Who are the Dads 4 Daughters?
Dads 4 Daughters are cousins Kevin Gibson, 44, and John Hearn, 53. They are riding their bicycles from Vancouver to Toronto to raise funds in support of the CNIB Library for the Blind’s digital library campaign. Both men have teenage daughters who are visually impaired. They live in Ontario where Gibson is an RCMP officer.

When is the Dads 4 Daughters ride?
June 1 through July 20, 2003. Hearn and Gibson will leave Vancouver on June 1, 2003, and plan to arrive in Toronto by July 20. An itinerary will follow.

How is the CNIB involved?
The Dads 4 Daughters ride will raise funds in support of the CNIB Library for the Blind. Kevin and John want to give back to the CNIB, which has provided invaluable resources to their daughters, who are both visually impaired.

How can donations be made?
There are a number of ways to make a financial gift. A tax receipt can be issued for $10 or more.
What if someone wishes to donate at a local CNIB office?
Donations can be made by cheque or by credit card at local CNIB offices. Cheques should be made payable to Dads 4 Daughters. District offices will then forward cheques and credit card proceeds to the CNIB National Campaign Office, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4G 3E8. National Office will issue tax receipts for all donations of $10 or more.

What is the fundraising goal for the Dads’ ride?
The Dads 4 Daughters ride aims to raise $150,000 in support of the CNIB Library Campaign. All proceeds from the Dads’ fundraising ride will go to library services to benefit children. Kevin and John are making this trek at their own expense.

What is the CNIB Library’s digital library campaign?
The CNIB’s $33 million campaign, That all may read… will transform library services for people who are blind or visually impaired, providing access to information that sighted people take for granted. Currently, only 3% of information is available to people who cannot read print. The project includes the world’s first Internet portals for people who are blind, digital talking books and doubling the size of the Library collection.
